Medical Missions Update and Invitation from Sam Porter, Partnership and Volunteer Missions, Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma

Sam Porter writes:

I just spoke with Jason Yarbrough, Pastor of FBC Glenpool. He was updating me on the totals for the week in Acapulco....the final totals for the five days of ministry in the medical crusade are:

  • 906 patients ministered to
  • 294 professions of faith

I was just so thrilled to know we have planted both of these new works there in the past 18 months, and they both have been having from 15-25 people in services each week. But now, if you divide evenly, they have had almost 150 saved at each church plant site--they have much follow up work to do!

We knew the harvest was white and ready to reap, but this far exceeded any projections. This was just the first of eight Medical Mission Crusades to be held this year. We will have a Medical Mission Crusade in all 16 new church plants that have been planted since we launched the church plant emphasis, Acapulco 15 by 15, on January 22, 2011. During the week of Medical Mission two, church plant sites will host the event to impact their local community.

Please continue to help us pray and communicate for BGCO churches to partner and participate in this effort in Guerrero, Mexico. We need medically trained men and women to go assist in these medical clinics that reap huge eternal results.
